NXP EAL6+ Certification
id3 Technologies announced that its biometric algorithm library has achieved EAL6+ certification when integrated into NXP Semiconductors' secure smart card solution.
The id3 library enables secure and privacy-preserving user authentication with multimodal fingerprint and face biometrics as an alternative to PIN-based methods. This represents NXP's first solution offering biometric match-on-card with CC EAL6+ certification.
Performance Metrics
The fingerprint algorithms achieved a 1.03% error rate at 0.01% false acceptance rate in NIST's Minex evaluations, while face recognition achieved 0.32% error rate at 0.001% false acceptance rate. Response time averages 120 milliseconds regardless of biometric type.
The certification validates compliance with EAL6 augmented assurance requirements under the Common Criteria certification scheme and ISO/IEC 7816 standards.
The announcement follows Peru's issuance of seven million digital ID cards utilizing id3 biometrics and NXP chips.
